Wireless Monitor for CP Rectifiers
by OmniMetrix

A self-contained, NEMA-4X, wireless monitor for
CP
rectifiers.
Wide-area connectivity via radio & cellular wireless network.

Description
The OmniMetrix
Rectifier Monitor (RM) is a self-contained, wireless remote
monitoring unit for CP Rectifiers. It measures rectifier output
voltage and rectifier shunt current, and includes AC control power
detection. A reference cell input allows pipe-to-soil and potential
to structure measurement. Add-on modules allow additional inputs,
remote current and voltage adjustment, and GPS-synchronized group
interruption.
Lightning damage is
avoided by the exclusive OmniMetrix StormSense™ module, which
monitors the ionosphere for lightning activity. When an approaching
thunderstorm is detected, StormSense™ causes input relays of the RM
Rectifier Monitor to electrically disconnect the unit from the
Rectifier, from the reference cell, and from AC control power. This
protects the unit from lightning damage. The unit also automatically
disconnects in the event of AC power line disturbances.
The RM Rectifier
Monitor features wide-area connectivity via digital radio,
transmitting data wirelessly to the OmniMetrix secure website. No
custom software is required; all you need is a PC with Internet
Explorer. The RM Rectifier Monitor compares its input measurements
to preset alarm levels, and can deliver alarms upon detection of
out-of-bounds conditions. Alarm levels and reporting intervals are
remotely programmable.
OmniUpdate™ is an
OmniMetrix exclusive that performs remote updates. No need for field
laptops - the RM's firmware is automatically updated over the life
of the monitor.
The RM Rectifier
Monitor is housed in a NEMA-4X enclosure and includes
pole-mounting hardware. The rectifier voltage and current inputs
have automatic dual-scale selection for superior accuracy. The Gel
Cell backup battery features a smart charging system with battery
life test, promising the longest possible battery replacement
interval. An integral Tamper detection function will automatically
and instantaneously awaken the unit and cause a Tamper Alarm
transmission. This function is utilized for security against
unauthorized intrusion of the monitor.
