Product Overview
The Deepwater Polatrak® Deep-C-Meter is a
self-contained CP monitoring system designed for deep-water ROV
applications. It is a completely self-contained system capable of monitoring
contact CP potentials with the ROV II
Cathodic Protection Probe (no intervention with ROV systems in
required). The system is comprised of three basic components:
1) Readout Unit with twin voltmeters housed in a stainless steel
pressure housing.
2) Probe with a twin-element, tip contact, CP probe (Polatrak Model
ROV II), and
3) Flying Lead, a 2-meter long umbilical that connects the probe to
the readout.
Rated for operation in up to 10,000 feet
(3000 m) depth, this is the most widely used system of it's kind worldwide.
The instrument readout unit can be conveniently mounted anywhere on the ROV
while the probe unit is held in the T-handle manipulator mount.
Applications
- Deepwater subsea equipment ROV CP
surveys
- Anode and field gradient surveys
- Deepwater Flow-line surveys
Main Benefits
- The entire system can be installed on an
ROV in minutes. It requires no interface to the ROV umbilical system.
- All data are recorded on the video
display. Like all Polatrak CP Probes, it has twin electrodes for on-line
calibration and redundancy.
- The unit runs on 9V alkaline batteries
triggered by a photo-cell, allowing the batteries to last an entire dive
season with continuous operation.
- All parts are serviceable. Each unit
comes with a comprehensive spares package.
- The readout unit can be configured to
work with any of Deepwater'a standard CP probes to read potential, anode
currents, current density or electrical field gradient (EFG).
