Description
American Innovations’
i-series MicroMax® GPS80 Interrupter is a flexible CP current
interrupter with no equal. It is the smallest, proven, lowest-cost
fully programmable GPS synchronized interrupter on the market. It
offers a choice of programmable cycles for continuous or scheduled
interruption activated by selection key or via the
Bullhorn ICP
remote monitoring unit. The GPS80 is compatible with all other
brands of GPS synchronized interrupter or logger. Users can define
and store four different programs for later recall. Cycle range is
up to 999.9 seconds in 0.1 second increments. The unit automatically
resumes its programmed cycle if a power disruption occurs. After
hours, the unit can be set to automatically generate full CP
polarization.Interrupt AC or DC.
Versatility is being able to use mercury or solid state relays, and
since the GPS80 can supply 500 mA, interrupting multiple relays is no
problem. The external relay configuration and the user configurable
nature of the relay controller output allows for use of a standard
relay supplied with the interrupter or a custom relay. Standard
relays are 30A Hg, 60A Hg, 100A, 90A / 240 Vac solid state, and 100A
/ 100 VDC solid state. Interrupter output is user selectable and
highly flexible. The output can be configured to 0V or 12V for ON or
OFF. Synchronization can be set to be on the leading or falling edge
of the interruption cycle.
The MicroMax GPS80
Interrupter is supplied with a GPS antenna, a 110 VAC charger, and a
cycle program selector key. Just attach the antenna, power supply
and relay control. Your GPS synchronized interrupter
cycle will start within minutes, with status indicated by LED’s.

Weatherproof case, rechargeable batteries, uses external
relay.Do you
need the versatility of the MicroMax but require it to
be weatherproof with backup batteries? OPTION 1 provides
functionality of the MicroMax GPS80 PLUS weatherproof
rugged packaging and a 2.6A.hr rechargeable backup
battery, which allows up to 8 hours of testing without
an external power supply. The MicroMax GPS80 is also
easily removed for use as a stand-alone interrupter. |

external relays in combination with, or without, the
built-in 60A relay. The MicroMax GPS80 is also easily
removed for use as a stand-alone interrupter. |

Operation
Measures interference
from multiple pipelines and multiple rectifiers,
and/or measures influence from multiple rectifiers
on one pipeline.
American Innovation's
unique, patented Interference Mode
interruption cycle enables interference testing with
greatly increased productivity and ease of data
interpretation. By operating in Interference Mode,
it is possible to determine the influence from
multiple rectifiers and capture the instant
off pipe-to-soil potentials, all during a single
visit to a test station!! In this mode, up to 99
GPS200 interrupters can be configured to switch
multiple rectifiers so that IR-free pipe-to-soil
potentials as well as the influence from each
rectifier under investigation can be easily
collected.

The same Interference
Mode algorithm can be used on a single pipeline,
using the methodology outlined above, to enable you
to complete an “Influence Survey”. This methodology
facilitates an accurate evaluation of each
rectifier’s influence over the span of the pipeline.
