Delmhorst Electrodes
All of the J and BD Series moisture
meters come with contact pins mounted on top of the meter and a port
used to connect any external electrode. The standard contact pins
penetrate maximum 5/16" for stock up to 6/4, and can be used to
test wood, concrete and gypsum. For other applications, consider the
following external electrodes:

26-ES -The industry standard for
lumber and woodworking, this electrode allows you to determine
moisture gradients. The contact pins that come with the 26-ES have
insulated shanks so that only the tips are exposed. The pins make
contact with the wood fiber only at their uncoated tips and provide
much more accurate readings of moisture content at various levels of
penetration. Knowing that the board is not uniform, you can use the
pins to determine the drying pattern.
Ideal for the hardwood flooring
installer, furniture manufacturer and the serious craftsman, the 26-ES
may be purchased as a separate option or included in one of our
moisture meter packages, depending on model.

21-E - Features #608
4"insulated pins for use on EIFS, roofing and insulation or any
tests where deeper penetration is required. #608/1 pins also offered
in 7" lengths. Required for EIFS inspectors; widely used by
roofing contractors, the 21-E may be purchased as an option or
included in one of our moisture meter packages, depending on model.

2-E - Uses the same contact pins
that are mounted on each meter. This electrode is great to use in hard
to reach places. Ideal for the home inspector and pest control
operator.
Contact Pins
#496 - Standard on the 26-ES,
the #496 contact pins are insulated except at the tips. 2"
overall length, 1-1/8" penetration. Used on wood up to 5"
thick.
#1849 - A shorter version of the
#496, the #1849 hasp 1/2" penetration and is suitable for wood up
to 2"thick.
#A-111 - A non-insulated contact
pin with 1/2" penetration. Used with the 26-E electrode. May be
used on wood up to 2" thick.
#608 - Standard on the #21-E,
the #608 contact pins are insulated except at the tips. 4"
overall length, 3 1/4" penetration. Used on roofing, insulation,
timber and poles.
#608/1 - A 7"version of the
#608, the #608/1 has an overall penetration of 6”. This pin was
specifically designed to meet EIFS testing standards, and can also be
used on timbers and poles.
#2497/A-100 - Contact pin and
retainer with overall penetration of 5/16". Standard on all J-
and BD-series meters and the #2-E electrode. Used on wood up to 6/4,
concrete and gypsum.
